The firm

Our five ways of being useful

FindExecutive search
We go and find the people you would not have found on your own.
AnticipateSuccession planning
Strong organisations prepare their succession by recruiting today the people who will make the organisation of tomorrow.
QuestionGovernance advice
Sometimes the question is not who to recruit. It is how to govern. What a leader is paid, how they are assessed, who is placed around them: none of these have an obvious answer. They need to be asked by someone from outside. We ask all three.
SeeAssessment and leadership transitions
Looking at someone properly: what drives them, their blind spots, the way they inhabit a responsibility. And looking at the moments of passage too: when a founder hands over, when two organisations come together, when an ending leadership has to find its succession without taking everything with it. These transitions are moments of truth. We see them through.
ComposeBuilding leadership teams
A leader is only worth the people they choose around them. We help newly appointed chief executives build their inner circle with the same care we put into recruiting them. Because running an organisation is always a collective act.

We have a method. But the method is not what makes the difference.

What makes the difference is what no method can hold: the instinct built up over a thousand assignments, the ability to hear what a brief does not say, and to sense in a candidate what their record does not yet show.

Here is what the method contains.

  1. 01

    Listen before searching

Every organisation has a history. It colours what the organisation needs, even when it cannot yet put that into words.

We spend time understanding that history. Its bright chapters and its difficult passages. Its strengths and its fragilities. Only then can the search begin.

  2. 02

Go and find those who do not come to you

The right profiles are almost never on the platforms everyone else is watching. They are leading somewhere else. They are waiting for a reason to turn around.

That is where our work starts: approaching them with respect, giving them an honest picture of what awaits, and letting them decide with their eyes open.

  3. 03

    Recommend, plainly

We do not put forward applications. We make recommendations.

That word carries something: that we hold a view, that we stand behind it, and that we share it even when it is unwelcome.

Candour is not a pose. It is the ground everything else stands on.

  4. 04

    Build the inner circle

A leader does not lead alone. They choose the people they will hold the line with: the directors, the deputies, the people who will carry the executive team with them.

That choice is often made in a hurry, under the pressure of the first hundred days. We help make it with the same judgement we bring to recruiting the leader.

  5. 05

    Stay afterwards

A leader's first months in post are often the most decisive, and the most solitary.

We do not disappear once the contract is signed. We stay available, discreetly, to get through that settling-in period together.

Who we are

Portrait of Luc Meuret

Luc Meuret

Founder

Twenty years ago, Luc Meuret asked a simple question: why should the public interest sector, which carries some of the heaviest responsibilities in our society, not be supported as rigorously as large corporations are?

YourVoice is the answer he built.

Since then he has looked for leaders, advised boards, and said what he thinks, even when silence would have been more comfortable.

Senior advisor

He sat on the other side of the table first.

A graduate of the École nationale d'administration, chief executive of Nancy University Hospital and the first head of the Pays de la Loire regional hospital agency, Benoît Péricard has lived from the inside what it takes to run a large public organisation, to carry its complexity and to own its trade-offs.

When he assesses a candidate or advises a board, he speaks with the memory of someone who has been there.

Senior advisor

Fifteen years at Groupe SOS: first at the head of a national charity, before becoming one of the two group chief executives and a member of the executive board from its creation in 2008. He has seen a number of mergers through to the end.

Seven years as an independent consultant in strategy, organisation, governance and development, with the memory of someone who has held the chair himself.

He joins YourVoice whenever a search calls for a rapid organisational diagnosis first.

Gaëlle Burlot

Senior consultant, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

A psychologist by training, she learned to listen before she learned to recruit. As a human resources manager at Vinci, she saw hiring from the other side of the mirror, before becoming a headhunter, specialising for more than ten years in doctorate-level profiles in research and innovation.

Based in Lyon, she carries the quiet rigour people associate with the river: nothing is rushed, everything counts. She knows her organisations the way you know your neighbours, over time, in the detail, in what annual reports never say.

That is the knowledge good recruitment is made of.

Alice David

Senior consultant, western France

Alice learned her trade where minds are shaped: leading recruitment for the largest higher education group in France, she found that choosing a talent already writes part of the future of everyone that person will go on to teach.

For ten years she has brought that eye to causes that are not measured in figures alone: health, social action, and every fundraising role, the kind of job where you recruit for a cause before you recruit for a position.

She represents the firm across western France, a land of tides and of courses held. And perhaps that suits her best: with Alice, recruitment is never neutral. It is committed, engaged, turned towards what matters, because you only recruit well for what you believe in.

What we believe

We believe that organisations serving the common good deserve the best leaders.

We believe that finding those leaders takes time, humility, and an honesty that is not up for negotiation.

We believe that a search firm that never says no to its clients is not doing them a service.

These convictions are what YourVoice was founded on. They are what guides every assignment.

Every important decision starts with a conversation.
