Job description

SOCIAL ACTION

School Principal (M/F)

We are seeking a facility director for a well-established nonprofit organization in the medical-social sector that is dedicated to serving children and adolescents with disabilities:

Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization in the medical-social sector, dedicated to developing support platforms for children and adolescents with disabilities. The facility for which we are recruiting is recognized as a “platform” by the pricing authority—providing day care, residential care, and support in mainstream settings—a designation that has not yet been fully reflected in practice: the organization still too often operates in silos. This is the challenge for the incoming leadership: to build truly flexible and individualized support pathways for each young person and their family. This facility is part of a network of children’s platforms supported by the association in the region, led by a collective of directors and characterized by a strong culture of managerial training. It also embodies an ambition that goes beyond management: a political vision of disability—that of a society that makes room for everyone—not just a nice-to-have, but a guiding principle we expect to see put into practice.

Acting on behalf of a regional office, you will assume full responsibility for the facility—including support services, human resources, finance, and operations. You will transition the facility from a siloed approach to a truly flexible, individualized care pathway for each young person in our care. You will manage a team of mid-level managers, establish structure, mediate conflicts, and set the course. You will join a network of platform directors, participate in management training, and represent the facility before local regulatory and funding authorities. Every day, you will embody a high standard of support—one in which everyone finds their place.

We are not looking for a typical industry profile: background matters less than the ability to act fairly. What matters above all is a keen understanding of situations and a genuine ability to listen—knowing how to engage with others, embracing complexity, and never reducing a situation to a power struggle. Fairness in management is just as crucial: the ability to treat every employee with the same high standards and the same respect. A sincere commitment to disability inclusion is a real asset, provided it is put into practice—merely paying lip service won’t suffice; what is expected is genuine buy-in to the social transformation initiative. Finally, you know how to transform practices: moving an organization from a siloed structure toward a truly career-path-oriented approach.
