HEALTH

General Manager - closed

UniHA, Union des Hôpitaux pour les Achats, is the leading cooperative of French public-sector hospital purchasers, working closely with its supplier companies in an innovative approach to purchasing. Its members have purchased through UniHA 5.3 billion euros in 2021. UniHA is one of Europe's leading purchasers in the healthcare sector, and one of the leading national purchasers across all sectors. UniHA was set up in 2005 by the hospitals themselves (32 CHU and 20 CH). The aim is to pool their purchasing, expertise and skills to improve economic performance, time and quality, and to join forces to respond to the profound transformation of the healthcare system. By the end of 2021, 1,073 hospitals had joined the cooperative (116 GHTs). 17 purchasing families cover the main needs of hospitals. Each purchasing family is coordinated by teams of hospital buyers based in their establishments, who act on behalf of the hospital community. The aim is to move away from a logic of economic gains for hospitals towards a logic of overall performance for healthcare players, by strengthening its service offering for complex and strategic purchasing, moving up the value chain for pharmaceutical products and the distribution of complex equipment, and defining all purchasing policies from the angle of innovation and risk management.
