The Institut Curie is a major player in research and the fight against cancer. It comprises a hospital and a research center with over 1,300 employees and a strong international presence.

The aim of the Institut Curie Research Center is to develop cutting-edge basic research and use the knowledge generated to improve cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, in a virtuous continuum of basic research - innovation - care, in the service of the patient.

 

The Research Center has over 86 research teams, divided into 13 mixed research units (UMR) and a translational research department. In addition to being housed at the Institut Curie, these units are co-supervised by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) and universities (Université Paris-Saclay, Sorbonne Université, Université Paris Cité, Université Saint Quentin en Yvelines).

 

Job description

 

Purpose of the function

Working alongside the Director of the Research Center, the Administrative Director of the Research Center is responsible for the strategic and operational supervision of all the Research Center's support functions, to ensure that they fully meet the needs of management and the research units, thereby contributing to their success.

 

The Research Center Administrative Manager is responsible for streamlining administrative operations, maximizing added value for the Research Center as a whole, while taking into account specific needs and coordination with the hospital complex, head office departments and the Research Center's partners. To achieve this, he/she pilots and supports change by improving process efficiency and fostering a culture of collaboration between entities.

 

Missions

 

  • Manage, coordinate, lead and support the departments and services under his/her responsibility:

 

Human Resources Department

Financial Resources Department

Technical Services Department

 

 

  • Steering the reorganization of the Research Centre's support services, in line with the guidelines previously defined by the Research Centre's management and with a view to meeting the challenges and objectives set.

 

 

 

  • Ensure the implementation of processes to improve operational efficiency and optimize costs in each of the support functions; control changes in headcount and payroll, develop/implement activity management tools (dashboards, indicators, planning tools) and decision-making aids, optimize the performance and quality of services provided by the departments under its responsibility.

 

 

 

  • Ensure that the support functions effectively support the Research Center's overall strategies and objectives, acting as a business partner for the research units and coordinating with the Research Center's other entities and partners.

 

 

 

  • Promote a culture of innovation, empowerment and collaboration within support functions to boost employee commitment and satisfaction.

 

 

 

  • Ensure fluid communication and effective coordination between the Research Center, other entities and partners to ensure smooth implementation of policies and procedures.

 

 

 

  • Ensure implementation of the administrative component of the facility project

 

 

 

  • Maintain a strategic regulatory watch with a view to securing the Research Centre's legal acts and guaranteeing the correct application of procedures

 

 

  • Working with the Research Center Director, oversee the organization and monitoring of the Research Center's representative bodies (CSE, CSSCT, etc.).

 

 

Profile required

 

Training and skills

 

  • Higher education (BAC + 5) with a specialization in finance/management
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role or as an administrative and financial director of an establishment, ideally in the healthcare/research sector
  • Technical knowledge in the fields of finance, human resources and general affairs, as well as mastery of regulations governing the monitoring of public contracts
  • A cross-functional vision of the job's operations and an understanding of the changing context (regulatory, financial, etc.), enabling you to demonstrate adaptability.
  • Fluency in professional English
